Plantation Place. London

As with all City of London sites, an archaelogical dig had to be conducted at 31-35 Fenchurch St. before work on Plantation Place could begin. Among the finds were the remains of a Roman town burnt down by Boadicea in AD60, and a hoard of gold coins from the 1st and 2nd Century.
The 43 22-carat gold coins - in mint condition - range from the reign of the Roman Emperor Nero in about AD 65 to the reign of the Roman Emperor Aurelius in AD 174.
Archaeologist Joe Severn discovered the hoard inside a leather bag during an archaeological dig in the heart of the City.
