The Wrexham Hoard 1926
Author: Steve Rice Published: 07-06-2009
A hoard of Short Cross Pennies, with a few cut halfpence and Irish and Scottish Sterlings and Esterlings were found in levelling a garden at a new house, 312 Chester Road, Wrexham in 1926. It was contained in a pottery juglet. The amount of coins is unclear as an inquest was not held until 1969. However the National Museum nevertheless purchased 68 coins in question, and subsequently another 3.
